Introduction
Knit Numbers is a privacy-focused knitting app for tracking projects and counting rows on Android and iOS. The app stores all data locally on your device and is committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining transparency about how your information is handled.
Data Collection and Storage
- Local Storage Only: All knitting projects, photos, and app preferences are stored locally on your device.
- No Cloud Storage (by default): Knit Numbers does not upload, transmit, or back up your data to external servers. All information remains local unless you choose to enable future optional features—such as cloud backup or in-app shopping—which will require your explicit consent.
- No Data Collection (without consent): Knit Numbers does not collect, track, or analyze personal information. If future features (e.g., account creation, cloud sync, or shopping) require limited data handling, we will request clear opt-in permission before any data is shared or stored beyond your device.
Camera and Photo Access
The app requests camera and photo-library permissions only to support your knitting projects.
- Take Photos: Capture progress photos for specific projects.
- Select Photos: Choose existing images from your device’s photo library.
- Local Storage (by default): All photos remain stored locally on your device and are never uploaded or shared without your permission.
- User Control: The camera and photo library are accessed only when you choose to add a photo within the app.
We never record video, access photos without consent, or use the camera for any unrelated purpose.
Future Features
In upcoming versions, Knit Numbers may introduce optional social or community features that let you share selected photos or project details with other users. Participation will be entirely opt-in and will require explicit permission before any data leaves your device. You will always decide what is shared, when, and with whom.

Platform Services
Knit Numbers relies solely on the essential services required by Google Play and the Apple App Store to operate and distribute the app—such as payment processing, crash reporting, and store verification. These platform-level services may collect limited technical data as part of their standard operation, and their use is governed by Google’s and Apple’s respective privacy policies.
Future Integrations
If Knit Numbers adds optional integrations (e.g., cloud storage, account creation, or community sharing), you will receive advance notice and the ability to opt in explicitly before any data is shared beyond your device.
Children’s Privacy
Knit Numbers is not intended for children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
